The Algarve is the region in the south end of Portugal. Because of its beaches, Mediterranean climate and relatively low costs, the Algarve receives an average of 8 million foreign tourists each year. Also in Argarve, fishing and aquaculture have been the important activities since ancient times. Olhão which has the approx. 42000 population is mostly a fishing port city.
